Jed Brown and Colin Haley made the probable first winter ascent of Mt. Huntington (3730m), Alaska Range, via the West Face Couloir (Nettle-Quirk route, 1989).

The guys reached Tokositna Glacier on March 10. They left camp at 7:35 a.m. on March 12 and climbed 900-meter steep ice and snow terrain up to the summit, and then rappelled the route to return to their tents at 22:20. In total - 15-hour round trip. Jed and Colin reported excellent conditions and weather on the route, but the only negative thing- they both got frost bitten a bit in the winter cold. Last year, Brown and Haley made the first ascent of the direct North Face of Mt. Moffit in the Hayes Range of Alaska.
