11.04.07 I take back my words. The porters were right yesterday. Rain and snow are really great handicaps. Literally we had to climb cutting our way on rocky - ground - grassy abrupt path today. The porters felt even worse, of course, and asked ice-screws and 150 meters of ropes for tomorrow. We gained for one kilometer of altitude. Horrors! I have never met such approaches.

10.04.07 Yesterday our worse suppositions were confirmed. Snow fallen on the slopes blocked the road to the porters that are without good footwear and with a big cargo. We are waiting for improvement of the road and weather conditions.

9.04.07 Short trek to Lete (2300 meters) with the purpose of buying meat, potato, vegetables, etc. From here there is a sharp turn to the right from the basic track aside Annapurna on a steep slope, but it has been raining for the third day that brings up questions.

8.04.07 Trek to Gasa (2100 meters). Good altitude gain. It's a unique gorge. Tangerines and hot springs are the sights of Totopani, but in Gasa - sea-buckthorn juice. A little higher, in Marfa- apples and apple wine. Since the morning weather is magnificent, but in the afternoon starts raining. And that means it should be snowing above.
